In a world where mass production and fleeting trends dominate, A House Turned Home stands as a beacon of timeless craftsmanship, personal connection, and sustainable practices. Because home isn’t about filling rooms with furniture; it’s about filling it with pieces that have heart, soul, and a story that will resonate for years to come.
Fifteen years ago, my journey into furniture restoration began with a meaningful gift from my grandmother— that had belonged to my great-grandmother, a woman I deeply adored. The bed set was dark and dated, but I really saw potential in it. More than being free furniture—it was a piece of my family’s history, something that connected me to my great-grandmother. I had the discernment to know it was made well, and with some love and care, I could transform it into something beautiful that would fit perfectly in our first home and honor the legacy it carried. The transformation was incredible—what started as a dark and tired piece of furniture became a bright, beautiful bed set that not only served a practical purpose but also told a story. This bed set became my first family heirloom, a symbol of love, history, and the power of transformation. This experience of taking something dated and worn, sometimes thrown away and turning it into something beautiful and meaningful planted the seed for what would eventually become A House Turned Home (HTH). I realized that if I could do this for my family, I could do it for others too. Our purpose is to inspire, teach and bring warmth, personality, and a sense of legacy into the homes of our clients, customers, and community one transformation at a time.
